The third largest county in Missouri with a population of 150, 797, Springfield is the county seat of Greene County. Counties of Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk, and Webster are included in the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city with the most varied weather in the nations, Springfield is voted as “America’s Wildest Weather Cities”, by Forbes Magazine.

Nicknamed “The Queen City”, it is also known as “The Cultural Center of the Ozarks. Missouri was divided during the civil war and in 1863 a number of battles were fought in the Ozarks. Fall season is also the best time to visit Springfield when many interesting events take place. Founded by John Polk Campbell, Springfield was incorporated in 1838.
